Song Of The Day: "Hummingbird" by Kyla La Grange

This is very good artwork

Kyla La Grange had that really great song from last year's "So Sweet", a bop that sounds like something I wish Goldfrapp would make. Luckily, Kyla is making the Goldfrapp-ish hits nowadays and she's back with new single "Hummingbird".

It starts with a brassy horn melody that mixes effortlessly with Kyla signature brand of electropop. It's nice hearing Kyla's lyrics convey the fun spirit that she exudes on social media, and the sass and emotion continue throughout all of "Hummingbird". When you think about the neon jungle story that "So Sweet" , "Skin" , and "Hummingbird" have painted for Kyla's new era, you get the sense that Kyla has finally reached her true image as a popstar, which is exciting to say the least.

Best Bits: The chorus's lyrics are absolute poetry "Like a hummingbird / I will hover / but never taste the fruit / like a memory of a lover / that flickers into view"
